Term Mindfulness Training
Definitions A framework for mindfulness practice that includes four parts:
  1. Technique Set: You have to have at least one focus technique and if you have more than one you need to understand how the different techniques you use work together.
  2. Training Structure: Life practice (Formal and Informal), Retreat Practice, Get Support, Give Support. Together, these make up the Four Pillars of Practice. (See Finer Details below.)
  3. Happiness Goals: Aspects of happiness that you would like to improve through practice (these may broaden and deepen with time).
  4. Understanding the Mechanism: The ability to connect the dots (i.e., how developing mindfulness skills and using mindfulness strategies supports achieving your Happiness Goals).
