Background Practice
Term | Background Practice |
Definitions | A type of informal practice described in UM. Compared to formal practice or microhits, a smaller portion of your attention is dedicated to doing the technique and you’re not keeping track of how long you’re practicing. While mostly focusing on whatever activity you’re doing, you typically devote 10% to 20% of your attention to applying mindfulness skills, though more or less is possible. Some techniques that are easy to use for this kind of informal practice may include Feel Rest, Just Feel, Feel Good, and others. |
