Term Informal Practice
Definitions A period of practice that either lasts for less than 10 minutes or in which only a portion of your attention is on the technique, while you're mainly focusing on whatever other activity you're doing (such as having a conversation or working on your computer).
  1. Microhits are performed with heightened attention, but can be quite short—a few minutes, or even a few seconds.
  2. Background practice can be performed for any length of time, but you’re putting just some of your attention on doing the technique.
