Term | Absolute |
Definitions | In Unified Mindfulness, a term for the deepest phase of experience. A synonym for terms like Oneness, Unity, Emptiness, Completeness, No Self, or True Self. Absolute describes extraordinary or transcendent experience, which contrasts with more ordinary or relative experience. Complete transcendence can’t be known directly because there is no sense of a limited self to know it. While putting words to it can only ever limit the limitless, the sensory system can reflect transcendence and having a name for the deepest phase of experience can be useful for communication, and increased clarity.
Transcendent states can be described with more precision by using modifiers to highlight three subtle themes and their relationships: Absolute Rest, Absolute Now, and Absolute Activity. |
