Four aspects of a complete practice structure:
- retreat practice (deeper immersion in mindfulness training, roughly a week-long retreat or equivalent amount of shorter retreats are recommended per year);
- life practice (both formal and informal practice between retreats);
- getting support (connecting with teachers and peers and engaging with resources for accountability and learning); and
- giving support (informally or formally sharing practice, such as leading by example or teaching mindfulness).
