Term | Local Intensity and Wider Spread |
Definitions | When a sensory event has an effect on more distant areas of the sensory system. Sometimes called a “splash, ripple” and often used to describe sensations in the body, but can happen in any sense category or across sense categories. The level of intensity may stay the same as it spreads, but more commonly it decreases with distance from the origin point. The spread of the sensory experience and/or its influence may be detected consciously (Conscious Spread), or it may go undetected (Subconscious Spread). When you’re able to track the spread spatially and be aware of it consciously, you tend to suffer less and enhance fulfillment.
