Aspect: The groups or subgroup into which you can organize the content of your experience. To help you appreciate experience (by untangling and unblocking it), UM organizes your sensory experience into 12 basic groups: The three sense categories (See, Hear, Feel, or SHF) each have four main groups—Inner, Outer, Active, and Restful. The three main categories divided into four subgroups make 12 Aspects, which cover all possibilities. Any experience you have is some combination of these 12 aspects. The main Aspects may be combined and/or broken into smaller groups (Sub Aspects). An example of a combination is seeing a bird and hearing it chirp while feeling joyful (See Out, Hear Out, Feel In). An example of a sub aspect is the specific sound of the chirp and location of the bird. You can also relate to the contour of deeper phases of your experience as content in order to further unblock and untangle it. For example, tingling vibratory flow in your heart area can be worked with as content and understood in terms of its aspects (General Aspects: Active Feel Out. Sub Aspect of Feel Out: Flow, Heart Area. Sub Aspect of Flow: Vibratory Flow. Sub Aspect of Vibratory Flow: Tingling, Pleasant Hedonic Valence, etc.)
Phase: The degree of transcendence in sensory perception and expression. Commonly, how much your sensory experience is flowing, spacious, and/or spontaneous. UM themes of In, Out, Rest, Flow, Space, Now, Bounce, Good, and All Themes—can be explored and/or experienced at any phase, from ordinary, or surface phase, to extraordinary, or deep phase. Knowing about this continuum helps you become sensitized to and integrate transcendence. Other terms for the deepest phase of experience include the Absolute, Non-Duality, No Self, Expansion/Contraction Flow, Oneness, and effortless Goodness, or Love.
Level: Your degree of Concentration, Clarity, and Equanimity (CC&E). The lower your level of CC&E, the more you may need to untangle and unblock aspects of experience. You are more aware of content. The higher your level of CC&E the more your surface mind is in contact with deeper phases of experience. You are more aware of contour.
